Boston, Massachusetts
Visit all six New England states! Your vacation begins
in Boston, the “Cradle of Liberty.” Transfer

Day 2 –
Plymouth Rock, Hyannis
This morning stop at Boston’s Old North Church,
where Paul Revere began his famous midnight ride. Brief
visit to Fanueil Hall Marketplace. Drive by the State
Capitol and the Boston Commons. Continue to Lexington,
where the Minutemen had their first Revolutionary skirmish.
See the Battle Green where “the shot heard around
the world” signaled the start of the American
Revolution. Follow the route of Paul Revere from Lexington
to Concord. Stop at the Old North Bridge. Then, head
south and stop at Plymouth Rock. In 1620, pilgrims from
the Mayflower landed here. Next, to Cape Cod’s
southern shore for a two night stay at your resort in
the popular vacation community of Hyannis. Hyannis was
the site of President John F. Kennedy’s summer

Day 3 –
Martha's Vineyard
Morning ferry from Woods Hole across the bay to Martha’s
Vineyard, named for a European sailor’s daughter,
Martha, who found wild grapes growing on the island.
The island is a haven for artists, poets, singers and
celebrities who are attracted to its laid-back, charming
lifestyle. Here, enjoy an island tour of sweeping vistas.
See Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven. Visit the historic
whaling town of Edgartown with its narrow streets and
elegant homes. Enjoy leisure time to wander, shop and
visit the art galleries. Return by ferry to Cape Cod.

Day 4 –
Rhode Island, Connecticut
This morning journey to the sailing capital of the world,
Newport, Rhode Island. Visit the historic Vanderbilt
“summer cottage,” The Breakers. This Italian
Renaissance style palace has 70 rooms and is the grandest
of all Newport estates. Then, on a sightseeing drive
of Newport, see the mansions of the “400 Club”
and St. Mary’s Church, where Jacqueline Bouvier
married John F. Kennedy. Continue to the seaport of
Mystic, Connecticut. Visit Mystic Seaport, the nation’s
leading maritime museum, dedicated to the golden age
of seafaring. View impressive tall ships. B
Day 5 –
Norman Rockwell, Vermont
This morning, head into the beautiful Berkshire Mountains
of Massachusetts, where Norman Rockwell spent the last
25 years of his life. Visit the Norman Rockwell Museum.
Admire the collection of Rockwell’s Saturday Evening
Post covers extolling the virtues of everyday Americans.
Visit Rockwell’s studio, preserved exactly as
it was when Rockwell painted here. Then, overnight in
the Green Mountains of Vermont. B
Day 6 –
Vermont, New Hampshire
This morning, a scenic mountain drive along country
roads to Plymouth Notch, birthplace of President Calvin
Coolidge. See the home where our 30th President took
the oath of office from his father, by the light of
a kerosene lamp. The village of Plymouth Notch is unchanged
since the early 20th century. Your next stop is the
village of Woodstock, described as “the prettiest
small town in America.” Photostop at a covered
bridge. Drive over Quechee Gorge, the Grand Canyon of
New England. Next, through the White Mountains of New
Hampshire to Franconia Notch. Then, follow the Kancamagus
Highway to your hotel in North Conway. Enjoy dinner.

Portland, Maine
This morning, travel past Maine’s lakes to Portland
on the rocky Atlantic coast. Visit Portland’s
waterfront. Continue to the resort of Kennebunkport.
Free time to explore this quaint small town. Tonight
enjoy a farewell Maine lobster dinner. Maine’s
rocky coast, strong wave action and cold, nutrient-rich
waters help create the world’s sweetest and best-tasting

Kennebunkport, Boston
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Boston

1 – Phoenix, Arizona
See some of America’s greatest parks! Your Southwest
adventure begins in Phoenix, Arizona. Transfer from

Day
2 – Montezuma Castle, Sedona
See Scottsdale, Camelback Mountain and giant Saguaro
Cacti on your morning sightseeing. Drive north to visit
Montezuma Castle, site of 12th and 13th century cliff
dwellings. The state of Arizona has been inhabited for
at least 15,000 years. Fifteen different Native American
tribes live on reservations within Arizona. Continue
to the artist colony of Sedona, surrounded by magnificent
red rock formations and voted the most beautiful place
in America. Some people believe that certain areas in
Sedona have strong energy forces. These areas are known
as vortexes and are believed to revitalize you. Photostop
at beautiful Bell Rock, a well-known vortex. Enjoy a
leisurely visit to Sedona, with its outstanding collection
of galleries, shops and restaurants. Continue on a scenic
drive of the red rock formations surrounding Sedona.

Day
3 – Flagstaff, Grand Canyon
This morning wind through Oak Creek Canyon en route
to Flagstaff to visit the Indian Museum of Northern
Arizona. Then, arrive early afternoon at the Grand Canyon.
Your lodge is in the Grand Canyon National Park, near
the South Rim. The Grand Canyon, one of the seven natural
wonders of the world, follows the course of the Colorado
River. It varies from one to eighteen miles in width
and is almost 280 miles long. Your afternoon is free
for exploration. Take the free shuttle to the West Rim
lookouts. Enjoy breathtaking Grand Canyon vistas. B

4 – Grand Canyon, Lake Powell
Enjoy breakfast at historic El Tovar Lodge on the rim
of the Grand Canyon. Then, drive along the scenic East
Rim lookouts to the famous Desert View Lookout. Next,
continue to visit a Navajo and Hopi Trading Post. Here,
you will find a large selection of high quality Hopi
and Kachina dolls and fine Native American jewelry and
handicrafts. Next, drive over the Glen Canyon Dam to
185 mile long Lake Powell. Arrive at Lake Powell Resort,
formerly known as Wahweap Lodge, on the shores of Lake
Powell. Enjoy a scenic boat cruise through Lake Powell’s
Antelope Canyon. Enjoy a relaxing two night stay at

5 – Monument Valley, Jeep Tour
Enjoy breakfast in your resort’s famous Rainbow
room with 180 degree sweeping views of Lake Powell.
This morning enter the Navajo Indian Nation. Enjoy a
jeep tour of the restricted backcountry of Monument
Valley, a beautiful, pristine area of buttes and arches
which is accessible only with authorized Navajo guides.
The Valley was the backdrop for Western classics, such
as “The Searchers,” “Stagecoach,”
and “Once Upon a Time in the West.” This
is John Wayne country. John Ford, the filmmaker, discovered
the rugged beauty of Monument Valley in the 1940’s.
Visit Ford Point where you will recognize movie backdrops.
Many westerns were filmed here, with such Hollywood
legends as Maureen O’Hara, John Wayne, Henry Fonda,
and James Stewart. Lunch at Gouldings Lodge overlooking
Monument Valley. Visit the Hollywood Museum dedicated
to the films made in Monument Valley. Return to Lake
Powell. BL

6 – Bryce Canyon National Park
Enjoy breakfast in your resort’s famous Rainbow
room. Morning drive to Bryce Canyon. See the “Hoodoos,”
fantastic red, orange and pink limestone spirals. This
afternoon enjoy scenic stops at Bryce Point and Sunrise
Point, overlooking the stunning Bryce Amphitheater.
Next, to Bryce Valley for an overnight stay at rustic
Bryce Valley Inn, which is located just outside the
Park and has an overnight elevation of 6,200 feet (overnight
elevations in Bryce Canyon Park are higher and up to
8,100 feet). Look for colorful sunsets which transform
the nearby Escalante Mountains (Butch Cassidy country)
into brilliant shades of red, orange and pink. B

7 – Zion National Park
This morning drive to Zion Park. See a wonderland of
rock monoliths. Zion features stunning scenery found
nowhere else on earth and is a geologic showpiece with
sandstone cliffs among the world’s highest. Early
settlers were so inspired by Zion’s beauty that
they bestowed exalted names on the park’s natural
features. See East Temple, the Court of the Patriachs
and the Great White Throne. Leisure time this afternoon
to take the valley floor shuttle and the scenic walking
trails. Enjoy dinner. BD

8 – Zion Park to Las Vegas, Nevada
After breakfast, You will be transfered from Zion Park
to Las Vegas, Nevada. Enjoy a brief sightseeing drive
of the Las Vegas strip. Arrive at the Las Vegas airport

Day 1 – San Francisco, California
Your vacation begins. Fly to the city on the bay, San
Francisco, for a two night stay. San Francisco is named
for its patron saint, Saint Francis of Assisi. Your
hotel is conveniently located near exciting Fisherman’s
Wharf, San Francisco’s most popular destination.

Day 2 –
Wine Country, Bay Cruise
View San Francisco highlights on a brief morning sightseeing
tour. See Union Square, Chinatown and Nob Hill. Then,
head over the Golden Gate Bridge. Next, continue to
California’s wine country. See the historic Sonoma
Mission on Sonoma Plaza. Here, in 1846 when the West
was being settled, rowdy fun-loving pioneers raised
the flag of the Bear Republic, the beginning of the
state of California. This afternoon visit a winery and
sample local wines. Return to San Francisco. Stop at
the Golden Gate Bridge overlook. The world’s most
photographed bridge is two miles long and has more than
80,000 miles of wires. Golden Gate Bridge is constantly
being repainted by a crew of 31 painters to combat the
corrosive effects of the salt air. Enjoy a late afternoon
cruise on San Francisco Bay. See Alcatraz Island, the
Golden Gate Bridge and the beautiful San Francisco skyline.

Day 3 –
Yosemite National Park
This morning head east into the fertile San Joaquin
Valley, the bread-basket of California. Then, climb
through the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Pass through old
gold mining towns from the great California gold rush.
Arrive midday at Yosemite National Park. Established
in 1890, this 1,000 square mile park was first brought
to the public’s attention by naturalist John Muir,
founder of the Sierra Club. Enjoy a sightseeing tour
of the park. See cedar, pine and fir trees, magnificent
waterfalls and two towering granite monoliths known
as Half Dome and El Capitan. The remainder of your afternoon
is at leisure to explore Yosemite Park. Free time to
hike the nature trails, rent a bike or just simply relax
in the splendor of one of the most beautiful places
in the world. Overnight at Yosemite View Lodge. B
Day 4 –
Monterey Bay
Head west this morning past the San Luis Reservoir,
part of the vast California irrigation project. Next,
to Monterey. Monterey achieved fame through the writings
of its native son, John Steinbeck, who chronicled the
activities of the colorful fishing section of town called
Cannery Row. After a brief sightseeing drive of Fisherman's
Wharf and Cannery Row, your afternoon is at leisure
to explore the many attractions in this historic town.
Walk along the oceanfront trail connecting Fisherman's
Wharf with Cannery Row, relax in an oceanfront restaurant
and observe the sea lions and other sea life. From May
23rd thru Labor Day, hop aboard the free trolley. Enjoy
a relaxing two night stay at your hotel, the Embassy
Suites on Monterey Bay. B
Day 5 –
Monterey Bay Aquarium, 17-Mile Drive, Carmel Mission
This morning visit the unique oceanfront Monterey Bay
Aquarium on Cannery Row. Then, enjoy the 17-mile coastal
drive, lined with palatial homes and delightful natural
wonders, such as Seal Beach and the Lone Cypress. See
the famous Pebble Beach golf course. Drive thru the
charming town of Carmel by the Sea and visit the beautifully
restored Carmel Mission. Evening at leisure at your
hotel on Monterey Bay. B
Day 6 –
Big Sur, Redwoods, Hearst Castle
Continue south along the Pacific Ocean this morning
through the Big Sur. This spectacular 80 mile drive
between Carmel and San Simeon is considered the most
beautiful coastal drive in the world. On one side is
the sparkling turquoise Pacific Ocean with its pounding
surf, and on the other is the Santa Lucia Mountain Range.
Stop at a redwood grove for close-up views of these
towering ancients. Old-growth Pacific coast redwoods
can live for 2000 years, grow to more than 350 feet
tall and attain a diameter of over 35 feet. Next, visit
William Randolph Hearst’s estate and the Hearst
Castle. Hearst originally built the castle to house
his collection of Medieval and Renaissance treasures,
and eventually turned the castle into his dream home.
See Hearst’s swimming pool. Actor Cary Grant,
a frequent guest, considered the pool one ?of the most
romantic spots on earth. Continue to Santa Barbara.
Stroll along the downtown pier for beautiful ocean vistas.
Then, to Los Angeles and your hotel, for a relaxing
two night stay. Evening at leisure. B
Day 7 –
Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Santa Monica
You will explore behind-the-scenes Hollywood on your
morning visit to Sony Studios, home to the popular shows
"Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy,"
as well as many blockbuster movies, including "Spider-Man"
and "Men in Black." Enjoy a rare glimpse of
old Hollywood's glory days as you walk on sound stages
where movie history was made. Then, drive along the
Sunset Strip en route to Hollywood. Look up high in
the hills and see the famous Hollywood sign, 50 feet
high and 400 feet wide. Stop at Mann’s (Grauman’s)
Chinese Theater to see the hand and footprints of such
stars as the Marx Brothers, Douglas Fairbanks and Marilyn
Monroe. Also, see the imprints of Jimmy Durante’s
nose, John Wayne’s fist, and Betty Grable’s
legs. Free time to explore Hollywood’s famous
sidewalk, known as the Walk of the Stars. See the dramatic
entrance of the Kodak Theatre, site of the Academy Awards.
Then, travel to Santa Monica to enjoy free time at Third
Street Promenade. Drive along Ocean Avenue and see the
Santa Monica Pier, which appears in many Hollywood films.
Return to your hotel in Beverly Hills. This evening,
visit Rodeo Drive, America's most celebrated shopping
district. Explore this three block stretch of shops
and boutiques. Farewell dinner on Rodeo Drive in Beverly

Day 1 –
Rapid City, South Dakota
See some of America’s grandest sights! Your western
adventure begins in Rapid City, South Dakota. Transfer

Day 2 –
Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse
Enjoy a morning visit to Mt. Rushmore National Monument,
with the sculpted faces of Presidents Washington, Jefferson,
Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt. Next, drive to Crazy
Horse Memorial. Started over 50 years ago, and still
under construction, the memorial is the world’s
largest sculpture in progress. Chief Standing Bear told
the sculptor, Korczak Ziolkowski, “My fellow chiefs
and I would like the white man to know the red man has
great heroes, too.” The monument is a tribute
to the Sioux Lakota Indian leader known as Crazy Horse.
Here, Indian artisans showcase their arts and crafts
and visit with guests. Then, visit the Indian Museum
of North America. Return through the Black Hills to
Rapid City. Free time to explore the historic district
and stroll the Presidential Walk with life-size statues
of American Presidents. Enjoy dinner. BD
Day 3 –
Little Big Horn, Montana
Enter Wyoming and head west across the high plains.
Drive by the old western cowboy town of Sheridan. Enjoy
lunch. Next, enter Montana, “Big Sky Country.”
Visit Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument in
the Crow Nation. Here, in 1876, in the Valley of Little
Big Horn, combined Sioux and Northern Cheyenne forces
led by Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse overwhelmed Custer
and his cavalry. Continue to Billings, nestled between
the Yellowstone River and the red Rimrocks. Explorers
Lewis & Clark camped near here in 1806. BL
Day 4 –
Cody, Wyoming, Yellowstone
Journey through the wide-open spaces of Montana today
en route to Cody,Wyoming. Visit the world famous Buffalo
Bill Historical Center known for its wild west exhibits.
See the Plains Indian Museum and the Whitney Gallery
of Western Art, with paintings and sculptures by revered
artists such as Frederic Remington and Charles Russell.
This afternoon cross the Continental Divide and enter
Yellowstone Park for a relaxing two night stay. B
Note: All tours stay at Old Faithful
Inn except the tour departing on July 13, which stays
at Old Faithful Snow Lodge. Both of these lodges are
located within Yellowstone National Park.
Day 5 –
Yellowstone, Mammoth Springs
Today enjoy a full day complete circle tour of Yellowstone
Park. Established in 1872, Yellowstone became the first
national park in the world. Now over 90 countries have
national parks. This 2,219,766 acre park contains almost
300 geysers and over 10,000 hot springs, fumaroles and
mud pots. Look for moose, elk and bison. You will visit
the major attractions of both Yellowstone’s upper
and lower loops. On the upper loop, you will see Norris
Geyser Basin and visit Mammoth Hot Springs. Walk on
the raised platforms above the unique terraced pools.
Mammoth Hot Springs is one of the best areas in the
park for close-up viewing of elk or bison. On the lower
loop, you will see Old Faithful Geyser, where every
90 minutes the Old Faithful Geyser shoots thousands
of gallons of steaming water into the air. You will
see Fountain Paint Pots, Yellowstone Lake and visit
Yellowstone’s Grand Canyon, where you can marvel
at the rushing waters of Yellowstone Falls, twice the
height of Niagara. Return to your Yellowstone Park Lodge.

Day 6 –
Grand Tetons, Jackson
This morning enter Grand Teton National Park. See the
jagged soaring Teton Range with peaks over 12,000 feet.
Scenes from the movie “Shane” were filmed
here. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the banks of the Snake
River. Weather and river conditions permitting, an unforgettable
float trip awaits you on the majestic Snake River. Wildlife
viewing opportunities abound as you float through the
park. Watch for waterfowl, beaver, osprey and eagles.
Next, stop at pristine Jenny Lake. Then, to Jackson.
Free time to explore the charming downtown. Stroll the
art galleries and western shops. See the Antler Arch
at the entrance to the town square. You may wish to
visit the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, with bar stools
made from horse saddles. Enjoy dinner. BLD
Day 7 –
Tetons, Oregon Trail, Idaho
Drive south through the Bridger-Teton National Forest
this morning. Enter Idaho and cross the route of the
original “Oregon Trail.” Photo stop at beautiful
Bear Lake. Continue via Logan Canyon to Salt Lake City,
Utah, the state capital. Afternoon visit to Temple Square
with its beautiful gardens and fountains. See the Mormon
Tabernacle, home to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir (unless
closed to the public due to a religious ceremony). Enjoy
a farewell dinner. BD
Day 8 – Salt Lake City,
Utah
Your tour ends after breakfast at your hotel in Salt
