is the key to a fun-packed vacation, and Ireland’s
cities and towns offer a unique combination of the quaint
and the cosmopolitan. Stay in a modern, comfortable
hotel in one of Ireland’s best-loved cities –
including beautiful
Kilkenny or serene and stately Limerick on the banks
of the Shannon. Pick the sights along the Southern route
of Ireland that most appeal to you – the Cliffs
of Moher, Dingle Peninsula, Blarney
Castle, Kinsale, and other gems waiting to be discovered.
While there’s so much to do in these cities that
it may be difficult to tear yourself away, you owe it
to yourselves to take the routes less traveled and explore!
Start in the capital city of Dublin – one of Europe’s
most beautiful and popular cities – and travel

world. Many are near the sea, most have astonishingly
beautiful scenery,
and some even come complete with lighthouses, castles,
and spas! Whatever you want from your golf vacation,
you’ve come to the perfect place. Play in Ireland,
Scotland, or combine the two – the options are
endless. The Ireland Golf Vacation starts at Doonbeg
Golf Club which is only a

coast line. Then it is off to the
fabled Ballybunion Golf Club – the course in the
heart of Kerry where pros and presidents have come to
test themselves. Play Old Head Golf Links, which stretches
two miles out over the Atlantic Ocean in Kinsale, County
Cork. Traveling up the east coast of Ireland you can
also enjoy
challenging rounds at Mount Juliet and the European
Club.
To play in the birthplace of golf, you
can expect some of the most challenging and rewarding
golfing experiences ever. To an avid golfer, a visit
to Scotland is a once-ina- lifetime event, and every
club is rich in tradition and authenticity. Beginning
in Edinburgh, the Gullane Golf Club is championship
quality links course with dramatic views across the
Firth of Forth to Edinburgh and Fife. Play a round at
Carnoustie – dating back to 1842, it is one of
the top 10 golf clubs in the world. Travel to the Highlands
for a true haven of mysticism, peace, tranquility, and
worldclass golf at Royal Dornoch. If you choose, use
Troon as a home base for a couple of nights and you’ll
have the opportunity to play a round at the famous Royal
Troon Golf Club and Glasgow Gailes. If time permits,
perhaps an extra round at Turnberry Resort, recently
just home of the British open.
Golfing in Scotland and Ireland means

Giant’s Causeway in the Northeast. Climb every
mountain, explore each boreen, and ferry on over to
an island or two – these routes were made for
walking!

Legendary
Luxury Ireland
Ireland is luxurious beyond your wildest
dreams: graceful and majestic, with sweeping lawns,
wooded estates, and ancient turrets that stand out against
an ever-changing sky. The Castles of Ireland come complete
with swans on the lake, tapestries on the walls, and
fireplaces big
enough to stand in. A visit to Ireland might be the
most romantic of European vacations – but a stay
in an Irish castle is a luxury that takes your holiday
to an entirely new level. Soaring and stately, set like
jewels in the finest locations all over the country,
the castles of Ireland boast rooms fit for royalty.
When it comes to castles, no two are alike. One of the
most popular
places to journey is along the Southern Dublin on the
east. Adare Manor is adjacent to a picture-postcard
village and an ultra luxurious spa. Killarney Park is
an elegant five-star property right in the heart of
Killarney town. Waterford Castle sits upon its own island
in the River Suir, a
mighty fortress with an 18-hole golf course. The Ritz-Carlton
Powerscourt, by
name alone, suggests luxury and you won’t be disappointed
with this impressive property located right in the Powerscourt
Garden Estate. For a road less traveled, you may opt
for the Northern journey which starts with the first
two nights at The Shelbourne, located right in the heart
of Dublin city. Travel less then two hours to the capital
of the north, Belfast, for a night of luxury at
Culloden Estate. Tucked in the captivating woodlands
of Ireland’s Northwest, the stunning Solis Lough
Eske Castle offers a magical stay combined with the
perfect location to tour the areas of Donegal. Ashford
Castle, built in the 13th century, has always been a
favorite luxury lair for
visiting heads of state and vacationing rock stars.
And at Dromoland Castle you can go
horseback riding on the grounds and then stroll past
the suits of armor on display to enjoy tea in the parlor
under portraits of royal O’Brien ancestors. All
across Ireland you will find big castles and small ones,
ancient castles, and castles a mere century or two old.
Each has its own
distinctive delightful character – and amid the
old-fashioned elegance you’ll find
every up-to-the-minute convenience a modern traveler
demands. Choose the most luxurious way to really live
your dream of Ireland: a stay in an authentic castle.
