So we took a cruise together.
She didn't know what to think when I gave her the Mothers Day Card with a bottle of sun tan lotion.
It was just a 3 day cruise but it was perfect. It was three days where no one had to cook or clean or run errands. We stayed as busy as we wanted. We shopped on the ship and in port. She loved the Straw Market in Nassau and brought back purses, hats and t-shirts for everyone.
We saw the evening show every night on the ship and then we went to the movies. One night she won $100 on the slot machines and spent it all the next day on gifts for her grandkids.
We sailed on a catamaran and snorkeled and we met lots of people. My mom has kept in touch with a couple of them ever since.
After lunch while we were at sea we played cards. We told stories and secrets and we laughed so hard we cried.
We wished the cruise had been longer. That's the sign of a great trip.
We didn't go on Mothers Day weekend , we went that summer and we didn't go alone because the whole family wanted to be a part of it. And we all there for the same reason. We all wore t shirts that said.....My mother was right about everything.
